Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III, Curriculum Management helps advance academic excellence by serving as a support resource for students, faculty, and leadership on curriculum-related matters. This position ensures alignment with institutional, state, and accreditation standards while facilitating the development and review of academic programs, courses, and catalog policies. Responsibilities span a variety of instructional applications'including credit, continuing education, and customized training'and contexts such as the LSC Core Curriculum and general education requirements for workforce programs. The role also supports the evaluation and implementation of course equivalency requests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversees daily operations and contributes to long-term planning within assigned curriculum areas. Maintains current, in-depth knowledge of curriculum processes, standards, policies, and regulations, and serves as a subject matter expert and liaison for internal and external stakeholders
  2. May coordinate the development of new educational programs across credit, continuing education, and customized corporate training. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and external partners to design programs aligned with institutional goals, industry needs, and curriculum best practices
  3. Coordinates the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing educational programs to ensure programs remain current, relevant, and aligned with institutional standards, industry trends, and learner needs
  4. May facilitate the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) review process, ensuring timely and accurate evaluation and implementation of approved PLA requests. Responsible for the review, maintenance, and publication of the PLA manual and inventory in accordance with institutional policies and best practices
  5. Designs and delivers training and support resources related to curriculum functions. Develops comprehensive training materials and documentation tailored to diverse audiences. Facilitates training sessions in multiple formats'including in-person, live online, and asynchronous modules'and provides ongoing process support to staff and students, as applicable
  6. Assists with planning, scheduling, and coordinating committee meetings, workshops, and training events related to assigned areas of responsibility
  7. May support the annual review of catalog policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with institutional standards and best practices
  8. Conducts research and data analysis to support curriculum initiatives and decision-making. Maintains relevant datasets to monitor trends, outcomes, and compliance. Prepares findings and other summary reports for internal and external stakeholders, including LSC managers, executives, community members, and partner organizations
  9. Develops and implements evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of assigned curriculum functions. Analyzes results to identify trends and areas for improvement and provides data-informed recommendations to refine objectives and strategies, with a focus on continuous program enhancement
  10. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to prioritize student needs in decision-making and service delivery
  • Knowledge of curriculum standards, academic policies, and accreditation requirements (e.g., SACSCOC, THECB)
  • Experience with Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) processes and policy development
  • Familiarity with continuing education and customized training programs
  • Experience designing and facilitating training
  • Ability to collect and analyze information and present findings to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in using curriculum management systems, learning management systems (LMS), and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
  • Organizational and project management skills

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work and there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. Occasionally the work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:

  • PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • May regularly travel to different LSC locations
  • May be required to work weekends and outside of core business hours

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hiring salary range is $48,152 - $55,375

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
