Procedural Charge Entry Clerk

Works closely with all the Surgical Services Managers and nurses to ensure charges are being entered correctly to the patient's chart. Audits charges to ensure that financials are matching surgicals.

• Interacts professionally with physicians, nurses, and others.
• Review clinical documentation and charge entry information for the OR, Cath Lab, Outpatient, and Endoscopy departments.
• Ensures documentation is completed.
• Accurately enters procedural data and charges into the electronic medical record.
• Works with purchasing agents to get obtain purchase orders for entry into system.
• Communicates with staff on missing documentation, charges, and implants.
• Finalizes cases in the system after ensures everything is complete and correct.
• Works closely with billing and coding staff to ensure charges are correct.
• Communicates concerns with appropriate Surgical Services Manager.
• Recognize incorrect supply entries and work with Surgical Services Mangers and/or Supply Chain team to get them corrected.
• Reviews department charge reconciliations daily to assure charges are accounted for and populated into the financial system correctly.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Regulatory Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Computer skill required.
