For more information, visit our website at www.kearfott.com Position Description: The Special Process Technician I - Machine Shop is responsible for supporting daily operations across the machine shop by performing essential maintenance, materials handling, and housekeeping duties. This role ensures that machine tools and shop environments are properly maintained and functional to support production efficiency and safety. Essential Functions: * Clean and refill coolant tanks on all machine tools at specified intervals to ensure optimal machine performance and compliance with safety/environmental standards. * Maintain proper containment of metal chips generated by machine tools, including regular removal from machines and transfer to designated disposal or recycling areas. * Safely handle and distribute various industrial gases throughout the facility as required for machine shop operations. * Operate a forklift to transport materials, supplies, and waste safely throughout the facility. * Maintain clean, safe floor conditions throughout the facility, including regular cleaning, spill containment, and adherence to housekeeping standards. * Assist machinists, engineers, and maintenance personnel with process preparation, material staging, and equipment setup as needed. * Follow all company policies and safety regulations related to hazardous materials, machine operation, and general plant safety. Required Skills * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions * Basic mechanical aptitude * Strong attention to detail and safety * Ability to work independently and within a team * Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods * Frequent bending, lifting, and walking in a shop environment * Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Education & Experience * HS Diploma or Equivalent required. * Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing plant environment utilizing machine tools required. * Forklift experience preferred. * Must be US Citizen.
