Position Summary

In Clean Energy Transportation, the Expert Contract Manager provides comprehensive contract support across all CET teams, with primarily responsibility for managing contracts for CET's Project Delivery team. This includes oversight of various Master Service Agreements, Standalone Agreements, and Purchase Orders related to construction services, design and engineering, construction inspection, underground locating, electric vehicle maintenance, and equipment/material procurement.

The Expert Contract Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure timely deployment of contracts and Requests for Proposals. The Expert Contract Manager acts as a subject matter expert on assigned contracts and coordinates legal and regulatory contract and reporting issues.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office, the field and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. Work location will be determined by hiring leader and successful candidate.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area: $114,000.00 to $162,800.00

Job Responsibilities

The Expert Contract Manager is responsible and accountable for CET contract management that leads to timely execution of program goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop scopes of work (SOWs).
  • Leading contract negotiations with vendors, internal stakeholders, and team members.
  • Submitting and managing supplier registration and third-party risk processes
  • Responding to and resolving team inquiries regarding contract scope and party responsibilities.
  • Acting as the Line of Business (LOB) lead for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) involving construction, engineering/design services, and materials/equipment, as needed.
  • Developing guides and procedures on contract-related topics to support team operations.
  • Supporting written safety documentation processes and maintaining familiarity with the ISN platform. Communicating with contractors regarding safety document deficiencies.
  • Provides direction and strategy recommendations on contractual matters.
  • Trains team members on policy and complex contract issues

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related degree; or equivalent work experience
  • Job-related experience, 6 years

  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Juris Doctorate
