The laboratory of Tanya Sippy, MD, PhD seeks postdocs with a background in systems, circuit or cellular neuroscience. Candidates should be interested in circuit and synaptic mechanisms underlying sensorimotor processing, dopamine signaling, and its translation to psychiatric diseases.

The Sippy Lab seeks to understand the mechanisms by which learned sensory information triggers action. We focus primarily on primary sensory and motor areas as well as the subcortical areas they project to, including the basal ganglia. Since dopamine is thought to play a central role in reward-based learning, we aim to understand how dopamine affects neural activity at the single cell and circuit level. Experience in calcium imaging and/or electrophysiology is a plus but not required.
