 Job Summary
  The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of aerospace and defense products through effective supplier collaboration, process evaluation, and technical oversight. This position partners with Sourcing, Operations, and Design Engineering teams, as well as suppliers and industry experts, to support the design, production, testing, and qualification of high-performance components and systems. The role involves supplier assessments, process audits, defect analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Job Responsibilities 
 
  
 
 Collaborate with Sourcing, Operations, Design Engineering, and suppliers to facilitate the design, production, and qualification of aerospace and defense products 
 
 Analyze technical data, specifications, and manufacturing limitations to ensure supplier capability and compliance with quality standards 
 
 Assess and recommend suppliers based on performance history, technical capability, and responsiveness to specifications 
 
 Review supplier manufacturing processes, quality plans, and inspection methods to ensure alignment with company and industry standards 
 
 Perform and verify part/product acceptance inspections and associated documentation 
 
 Conduct defect root cause analyses and validate supplier corrective and preventive actions 
 
 Facilitate technical trade-offs, standardization efforts, and design improvements to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency 
 
 Support producibility, inspection, and test problem-solving activities with internal and supplier teams 
 
 Perform defect data trend analysis and make risk-based decisions to address systemic quality issues 
 
 Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and cross-functional internal teams 
 
 Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102 First Article Inspection standards 
 
 Retrieve and review technical documentation, such as engineering drawings, specifications, and change documentation, to verify supplier adherence to requirements 
 
 Support internal continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier performance, inspection, and mistake-proofing processes 
  
  
 
 
Job Requirements 
 
  
 
 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
 
 Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or related aerospace/defense fields 
 
 Strong understanding of mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware manufacturing processes and associated inspection methods 
 
 Experience performing supplier audits, process reviews, and quality plan evaluations 
 
 Proficiency in defect data analysis, root cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions 
 
 Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements 
 
 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents 
 
 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
 
 Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and with external suppliers 
 
 Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities 
 
 Proficiency in MS Office applications; working knowledge of EPDM, SAP, COS, and P2P systems preferred
