Location: South LA Recuperative Care Center (SOLAR) - 4200 East Compton Blvd., Compton CA 90221


El Puente - 711 N. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA 90066


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm


Status: Full-time/Exempt/Management

Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the primary site leader, responsible for the site and its daily operations.
  • Liaise with outside stakeholders such as local government, funders, housing authorities, police, etc., and represent the site and agency.
  • Act as the fiscal guardian for the site, managing the budget, contracts, and purchasing, and signing off on all project spending, working collaboratively with the finance department.
  • Be accountable for all contractual deliverables, ensuring they are met, if not exceeded, and continually communicating with funders and the grants and contracts department to ensure they are negotiated, maintained, and appropriately and accurately reported.
  • Ensure the implementation of all agency initiatives and that the project's work aligns with wider agency and department strategic goals.
  • Report on the activities of the project to the Executive Leadership Team and represent the project in all inter-agency initiatives.
  • Manage a team of x reports and x indirect reports, who vary widely in job responsibility, job requirements, life experience, and expertise.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and support to all team members, including management, case managers, and support specialists.
  • Cultivate a healthy, supportive team environment that allows all team members to thrive.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility for the site and lead by example.
  • Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients using a client-centered approach that includes motivational interviewing and coaching staff to do the same.
  • Champion harm reduction and trauma-informed care
    Provide crisis intervention for clients when necessary, and follow up on client grievance submissions.
  • Ensure that the physical site is well-maintained and safe.
  • Provide oversight of the daily operations of the shelter and develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems necessary to maintain high-quality services and to ensure adequate outcomes.
  • Provide on-call coverage for emergencies, when needed.
  • Facilitate weekly individual and team meetings.
  • Conduct and sign off on performance evaluations for assigned staff.
  • Communicate effectively, and in a timely manner, with management, peers, and clients.
  • Collaborate with other programs to provide greater support and assistance to clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times, while following agency, state, and HIPAA laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Job Description Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum four (4) years of supervisory experience required
  • Proven success in developing and evaluating program needs and operationalizing innovative programming
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, mentoring, and motivating a diverse team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by the diverse population served
  • Strong computer skills: all Microsoft Office programs
  • Skilled in non-violent crisis intervention
  • Ability to be on-call
  • Ability to self-motivate and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking skills are necessary
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills to promote collaboration
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, and verbal skills, interpersonal, presentation, teambuilding, and computer skills
  • Ability to effectively lead a diverse team of case managers, attendants, and managers



Job Description Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in a relevant field strongly preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in case management strongly preferred
    Experience overseeing program design and development, implementation, and operations; staff supervision, training, and budget management across multiple sites preferred
  • Skilled in data collection and electronic databases; experience with HMIS strongly preferred



Job Description Work Environment:


  • A combination of field and office environments
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
  • On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
  • Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  • Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the day
