MTSI is seeking a highly skilled
Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
to support an advanced air platform program. This role involves the application of
Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and tools
to design and analyze system architectures, ensuring seamless integration, interoperability, and performance of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in systems modeling, analysis, and integration, contributing to cutting-edge defense technologies.
Responsibilities
- Model Development and System Architecture:
- Design system models and architectures using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect.
- Develop comprehensive SysML/UML diagrams to represent system requirements, interfaces, and capabilities.
- Translate operational and technical requirements into Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts for advanced air platform technologies.
- Requirements Analysis and Traceability:
- Ensure alignment of system models with stakeholder specifications and requirements.
- Manage requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle, from development to integration and testing.
- Integration and Collaboration:
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., software engineers, mechanical engineers, subsystem specialists) to ensure seamless integration of systems and subsystems.
- Facilitate collaboration within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to address technical trade-offs and maintain system interoperability.
- Simulation and Validation:
- Perform simulation-based analysis for system performance, reliability, and risk assessment.
- Validate system-level functionality and subsystem interactions to ensure mission readiness.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop technical documentation, including system specifications, ICDs (Interface Control Documents), and performance reports.
- Present model-based insights and analyses to program stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Lifecycle Management:
- Support systems throughout their lifecycle, from concept development and design through testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Ensure adherence to DoD standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-882) and program protocols.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or related systems engineering roles.
- Proficiency in MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
- Strong knowledge of SysML/UML for modeling system architectures.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, JIRA) and traceability workflows.
- Understanding of systems integration challenges and solutions across multi-domain operations (e.g., air, ground, and space platforms).
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
Desired
- 12+ years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or related systems engineering roles.
- Certifications that validate proficiency in systems engineering and modeling:
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP): Demonstrates mastery of systems engineering practices.
- Certified SysML Model Builder (OCUP): Proof of expertise in SysML modeling.
- Model-Based Engineering Certification: Specialized training in MBSE methodologies.
- DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Certification: Expertise in defense-specific architecture frameworks.
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP: Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks for defense systems integration.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification: Process improvement expertise applicable to systems architecture and modeling.
- Experience with advanced air platform systems such as sensors, communications, avionics, and propulsion.
