Position Highlights The Athletics Department is dedicated to excellence in collegiate sports, building a modern model of intercollegiate athletics fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and student-athlete success.

The Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for supporting audio, video, lighting, and broadcast by designing, building, and managing systems that allow for successful operation of event technology. This position will alleviate technology issues before they arise and plan for a more successful future. Working with campus partners and third party entities to ensure projects are designed and implemented successfully.

This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and manage systems
    to build a successful live event from a technology standpoint.
  • Design and build systems
    ensuring intern and part-time employee success in the operation of
    event technology.
  • Testing all necessary
    equipment prior to the event to ensure successful operation. Being able
    to rapidly troubleshoot broken technology during events and devising
    plans to address the broken technology and/or infrastructure moving
    forward.
  • Create systems to track and
    monitor in-game experience for post-event evaluation to identify
    strengths and weaknesses. Develop new opportunities to increase metrics.
  • Meet with coaches and staff
    to understand future technology needs. Exercise awareness of
    budget allocations and plan appropriately given the scope of the
    project.
  • Develop professional
    relationships with 3rd party vendors and campus partners to facilitate
    rapid implementations if the need arises.
  • Follow up with the
    appropriate vendor to make sure expectations were met for both parties.
    Make sure that all projects fall under the quality standards of the
    department.
  • Working with on-air talent
    and analysts to ensure high quality production and media standards for
    live and post-production events.
  • Communicate with Internal
    and External representatives that organize special events in Athletics'
    spaces.
  • Provide positive
    interactions that support the Athletic Department's goals. Provide
    technical advice for planning and execution of the event.
  • Follow up with
    representatives afterwards to ensure the event was technologically
    successful and if there were areas of failure, devise plans to ensure
    success in the future.
  • Research new technologies
    and recommend budget impacts that further the modernization of
    athletics. Use expertise to develop creative solutions to technology
    limitations and problems.
  • Assist in the maintenance
    of all audio, video, lighting, and broadcast gear.
  • Design and build systems to
    more rapidly identify outdated technology in inventory. Create plans to
    replace outdated or broken equipment.
  • Coordinate repair timelines
    with vendors. Manage Dante Audio and NDI/2110 Video Networking
    servers.
  • Budget Accountability.
  • Additional duties as
    assigned.

    Suite programs.

  • Knowledge of NCAA,
    University of Arizona, and Big 12 rules and procedures.

    successfully manage multiple priority projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to
    develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations.

    and project a positive, professional attitude.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's
    degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level
    experience required.
  • Five years of relevant work experience, or
    equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a college or university's facilities, event operations, or IT support operations.
  • Experience working live events for a college or university.
  • Experience working live events for a sport program.
