Colliers Project Leaders is currently looking for a Building Envelope Commissioning Intern to join our team in our New England region during Summer 2026. - Assist technical staff on Building Envelope and Waterproofing projects.
- This role involves both fieldwork and office-based tasks.
- Assist with in-field review of the building envelope for new construction and renovation projects.
- Learn how to perform job site visits to ensure the building envelope and roof waterproofing quality and document your findings.
- Assist with observing various performance tests on various building envelope systems, including tests for air leakage, water penetration, adhesion, pull-off strength, and infrared imaging.
- Work alongside technical staff assisting with field observation work, preparing detailed field visit reports, and documenting project issues through resolution.
- Set up and help maintain project database files and records.
- Gain knowledge of reading and understanding architectural drawings, specifications, and submittal related to the building envelope.
- Assist with reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, and requests for information.
- Assist with ensuring that envelope systems are properly commissioned.
- During the internship program, interns will tour various construction job sites and gain exposure to the industry.
- Opportunities to learn about other areas of the business and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Occassional travel to job sites or offices in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts required.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Building Science, or Architectural Sciences.
- Interest in the building envelope and construction are strongly recommended.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Occasional travel within the New England region will be required depending on project-specific needs.
- Must have reliable transportation to the project sites across New England.
- Previous intern or co-op experience in commissioning, previous architectural project role experience preferred.
- Possess solid problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
