The DevOps Engineer is responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle using a variety of technologies and tools to build impactful software solutions. The scope of this job includes building and optimizing comprehensive solutions that prioritize end-user efficiency and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain features and components of WellSky solutions with an emphasis on code quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues in production and development environments.
  • Optimize system performance and scalability through troubleshooting and ongoing improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation to ensure that software code meets internal standards and follows industry best practices for design and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain a robust set of unit tests and participate in other styles of automated testing, including integration, load, and performance testing to validate quality of code written.
  • Leverage AI tools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomes.
  • Deploy new versions of the product to production using automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
  • Apply quarterly security patches and continuously monitor the operational performance of all IBM i servers to ensure system stability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain system configurations across Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments, and collaborate with the development team to resolve performance issues and streamline code deployment.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2-4 years relevant work experience
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • IBM i Operating System
    • IBM i, iSeries, AS/400 System Administration experience
    • IBM Power Server

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring
  • History working on an Agile software development team
  • Continuous Delivery/Integration:Rocket LMi, Azure DevOps
  • Application Development/Coding/Scripting Experience:SQL, PowerShell
  • Hardware Management Console (HMC) configuration and support
  • SAN replication methods (IBM FSFC) configuration and support
  • Data replication configuration and support (PowerHA, MIMIX, etc.)
  • Experience in software development lifecycleautomation (DevOps) for IBMi
  • SQL & DB performance monitoring & tuning - utilizing tools like iDoctor
  • RPG Application development coding and CL coding (develop and support)

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to coach others, ensure processes and procedures are up to date and followed
  • Dynamic schedule - must be able to work nights/weekends
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
