DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION: Aligns clinical care practices across assigned ambulatory clinics to ensure consistency, safety, and adherence to evidence-based standards. Provides leadership and guidance to Nurse Supervisors to promote quality care, staff engagement, and performance excellence. Interviews and hires qualified Nurse Supervisor candidates, ensuring comprehensive onboarding, competency validation, and performance evaluation. Identifies training needs for clinical staff at hire and on an ongoing basis in collaboration with the Center for Education and Development and subject matter experts. Delivers education and training to a cohort of Nurse Supervisors to support professional development and integration of evidence-based practice. Drives initiatives involving clinical quality, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance across all departments of responsibility. Conducts performance improvement activities, including development, implementation, evaluation, and teaching, with accountability for clinic and system-level outcomes. Demonstrates the use of quality improvement methodologies to lead multidisciplinary teams, facilitate measurable results, and disseminate innovations across clinics. Oversees innovation efforts related to evidence-based care delivery, electronic medical record documentation, and clinical operations improvement. Leads or supports projects, special events, and community outreach initiatives that advance ambulatory operations and patient access. Collaborates in a matrixed leadership structure with Practice Managers to support and enhance the Nurse Supervisor role. Ensures compliance with regulatory and governmental requirements through monitoring, education, and proactive readiness. Oversees budgeting and resource management for assigned areas. Monitors and oversees time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Five (5) years of nursing experience. One (1) year of leadership, clinical quality improvement, and education/training experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
