SUMMARY 
   
  - The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
 - Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
 - Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
 
   
   
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
   
  - Performs, research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
 - Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
 - Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results
 - Designs, implements and tests/sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
 - Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency
 - Represents manufacturing on cross functional teams
 
   
  QUALIFICATIONS 
 
  
 - Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span
 - Management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
 - Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including layout, assembly and production equipment
 - Product development experience
 - Quality orientation and attention to detail
 - Problem analysis and problem resolution
 - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 - Strong team player
 - Ability to solve complex problems and a variety of changing needs under stress
 - Solid decision making skills
 
  
 
 
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 
 
  
 - Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
 - Computer assisted design proficiency.
 - Computer proficiency.
 - The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
 
  
 
 
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
 
  
 - Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
 - Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.

 - Lifting: Occasional, up to 50 lbs.
