Senior Buyer/Planner:

This is a senior position. It differs from other positions in the classification series by performing tasks at a proficient, accomplished level and handling the more difficult, complex or irregular tasks. Individuals in senior positions typically assist in setting priorities for work and are asked upon occasion to use judgment to solve unusual problems. In addition to performing the responsibilities of Buyer/Planner II:

* Assists in the development and implementation of Purchasing methods and procedures. Monitors the procurement process to assure that all purchases are in accordance with Company and Section policy and procedures.

* May supervise, assign work and evaluate performance of Buyer I & II as requested.

* Coordinates supply chain activities between operating areas and key alliance suppliers.

* Support and communicate Operational Excellence goals, objectives, vision, and values.

Principal Buyer/Planner:

This is a lead position affording guidance and supervision to other positions performing the same task. This is a lead position affording guidance and supervision to other positions performing the same tasks.

In addition to performing the responsibilities of Buyer/Planner II and Senior Buyer/Planner:

* Assists in the review and distribution of the Purchasing and Material section's workload.

* Supervises, trains and evaluates the performance of subordinate personnel.

* Provides supply chain area expertise in support of the appropriate business computer, performing quality assurance, application testing, application upgrade analysis, business process analysis and system analysis to insure optimum reliability, efficiency and application fit to the business area.

* Support and communicate Operational Excellence goals, objectives, vision, and values.

Preferred Qualifications

I

High school diploma or GED.

Approximately two years of supply chain and/or Power Plant experience.

A four year degree from an accredited University in a business related field may be considered as an equivalency for a portion of the required experience.

Education and/or experience in a supply chain concentration area such as materials management, logistics, procurement, accounts/payable, business administration

Working knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay process which includes requisitioning, RFQ's, purchase orders, warehouse operations and accounts payable.

Must demonstrate working knowledge of purchasing systems, procedures, material standards, specifications and the entire supply chain process.

II

Minimum qualifications of Level I.

A minimum of two years of supply chain and two years of Power Plant experience.

Ability to perform negotiations for critical goods & services.

Knowledge of Maximo, PASTA, Oracle, Documentum, Iprocurement, Discoverer.

Knowledge of Operations & Maintenance Work Flow Process.

Must be able to work independently under limited direction.

Business Degree preferred.

Purchasing certification preferred.

Senior

Minimum qualifications of Level II.

A minimum four years of supply chain experience and two years of Power Plant Experience.

Ability to administer and coordinate key alliance partnering agreements.

Must have a sound working knowledge of purchasing systems, procedures, material standards, specifications, technical data, and the entire supply chain process.

Business Degree preferred.

Purchasing certification preferred.

Principal

Minimum qualifications of Senior.

A minimum of seven years of supply chain experience.

Ability to perform negotiations for high dollar, critical goods & services.

Ability to negotiate high level key strategic alliance partnering agreements.

Must have total knowledge of supply chain process to include warehouse operations and accounts payable.

Must have supervisory experience, leadership qualities and ability to effectively oversee, direct, train and provide guidance to other buyers and communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management, company personnel and suppliers.

Develop, establish and administer performance tracking and feedback for Buyer/Planner II, Senior Buyer/Planner and Suppliers.

Preferred qualifications of Senior.
