Description

The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations, accounting functions, and budgeting processes within the company. You will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's financials are accurate, compliant, and in line with business goals. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights into SaaS metrics such as Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), and Churn Rate, helping guide strategic decisions.

Essential Duties
1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)



  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the company, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Create and maintain SaaS-specific financial models to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures and provide recommendations to management for corrective actions.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring they are in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.


2. Financial Reporting & Compliance



  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting for stakeholders, investors, and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors for the annual audit process, ensuring adherence to accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
  • Monitor tax compliance and ensure timely filing of tax returns and payments.


3. Cash Flow Management



  • Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity, ensuring the company has enough funds to meet operational needs and growth initiatives.
  • Assist with capital budgeting, funding requirements, and strategic financial planning.
  • Manage and optimize working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.


4. Business Strategy Support



  • Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management and the executive team to aid in business decision-making.
  • Partner with product, sales, and marketing teams to analyze cost structures, pricing models, and profitability.
  • Assist with evaluating new business opportunities, including new product launches.


5. SaaS Metrics Analysis & Optimization



  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to analyze subscription metrics, identify trends, and forecast revenue growth.
  • Track and report on customer retention, upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and pricing strategy.
  • Provide financial visibility on the impact of churn, revenue expansion, and customer segmentation on overall profitability.


6. Process Improvement & Automation



  • Continuously assess and implement process improvements for financial operations, invoicing, and collections.
  • Leverage technology (ERP, financial software, etc.) to automate routine financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.


7. Leadership & Team Management



  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and development of junior finance team members.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration within the finance team and across departments.



Essential Requirements



  • Superior problem-solving skills in developing new ways to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and cost control, able to develop improvements to systems or procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial statement preparation and strong technical accounting skills.
  • Experience interacting with Senior Management.
  • Ability to be creative in preparing financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Must be highly organized and a detail-oriented achiever with a thorough understanding of accounting principles and systems.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong reading, writing, computational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and an excellent work ethic.
  • Exceptional computer skills in Microsoft Office - Strong to Expert in Excel.
  • Ability to analyze and explain financial/non-financial data and reports to management/employees as required.



Additional Requirements



  • Experience with SaaS subscription models and their impact on financial performance.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition in SaaS (ASC 606).
  • Flexibility with working hours.
  • Some travel may be required.



Education & Experience Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance & accounting, minimum 2 years in SaaS environment or a subscription-based business model.
  • Proficiency in SaaS financial metrics such as MRR, ARR, Churn, CLTV, CAC, and others.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Expertise in financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel, or other ERP tools).
  • Experience with OneStream and Sales Force would be an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear, understandable manner.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
