Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Engineer in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics' (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Tactical Information Systems (PEO-TIS). PEO-TIS is composed of a team of relentless acquisition professionals who consistently team with government and industry partners to develop rapidly and field state-of-the-art sensors, C2, and specialized communication systems that enable the Nation's SOF Warfighters to win. This is a full-time position located at MacDill AFB, FL
Responsibilities
Evaluate and recommend programs and development plans, utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering.
- Work with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.
- Provide inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs and projects.
- Support technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs.
- Support government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Provide advanced inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolutions.
- Support contract modification and make technical recommendations for change order approval. Supports budget control, directly supporting the engineering effort. Provides decision support inputs for approval of plans, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
- Apply advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks.
- Plan, execute, and document surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.
- Provide significant, expert-level support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Complete advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.
- Provide expert-level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommending resolutions.
- Analyze trends in performance indicators to assist government counterparts with managing agency-level performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency IAW (DAWIA level II equivalent), and in the Test and Evaluation or Engineering fields, OR Completed DAWIA Practitioner non-resident course prerequisites in Test and Evaluation or Engineering Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in DoD acquisitions, to include:
- 3 years of DoD experience in Military Communications.
- Broad understanding of assigned acquisition program; conduct system engineering acquisition activities to include TEMP, SEP, SAMP development, PDR, CDR, PCA, FCA, FMECA evaluation, and maintain configuration management
