Position Summary:
Cosette Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly driven and strategic Senior Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across the branded pharmaceutical portfolio. This leader will identify, evaluate, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships, licensing, and acquisition opportunities to expand Cosette's presence in key therapeutic areas such as cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, women's health, and CNS (including migraine). The role requires a deep understanding of the branded pharma landscape, scientific evaluation, deal-making, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Sourcing & Opportunity Assessment: Identify and prioritize branded in-licensing, co-development, M&A, and alliance opportunities aligned with Cosette's growth strategy. Proactively cultivate relationships with biotech, pharma, and investment communities to source high-value branded assets.
  • Deal Execution: Lead deal strategy, valuation modeling, term sheet negotiations, and contract execution. Drive due diligence efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, Legal).
  • Portfolio Development: Evaluate therapeutic and market trends to guide portfolio strategy. Work with internal teams to integrate scientific and commercial insights into pipeline decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal executive stakeholders to align on BD priorities and risk mitigation strategies. Prepare and deliver opportunity assessments and deal updates to executive leadership.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a senior resource and subject matter expert within the BD function. Mentor junior BD staff and support knowledge sharing across the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of executing branded pharmaceutical deals (preferably mid- to late-stage assets or commercial-stage products).
  • Deep understanding of branded product lifecycle: clinical development, regulatory approval, market access, and commercialization.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen including DCF, NPV, IRR, and P&L modeling.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic environment.
Education & Experience:
  • MBA and/or advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in branded business development roles.
  • Experience with U.S. and global markets is highly preferred.
Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Bridgewater, NJ based position is $200,000 -$275,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee on the payment date.

Physical requirements

This role will follow a hybrid work schedule, requiring three (3) onsite days per week at our Bridgewater, NJ office. Moderate travel is required..
