Description

Join Mascoma Bank's Retail Team as a Relationship Banker- Operations Manager to help us improve our clients' financial being! At Mascoma Bank, we aim to provide exceptional customer service while enhancing the lives of our customers and communities.

We are looking for a Relationship Banker-Operations Manager who is passionate about assisting customers with their banking needs and advising on options to help them manage their financial lives in a way that leaves a lasting positive impression. The Manager will take responsibility for the efficient operation of the teller area, meeting audit standards while providing the best possible experience for our customers.

Requirements
  1. Assumes responsibilities for the efficient operation of the teller area.
  • In conjunction with the Branch Manager, makes routine employment decisions, resolves routine personnel problems, reviews performance, and prepares annual performance evaluations. Participates in coaching employees to design and achieve their career goals at the Bank.
  • Assigns work, provides training and guidance, and advises subordinates as necessary; Schedules staff appropriately to meet customer needs, keeping in mind peak times.
  • Compiles necessary data to complete branch reports.
  • Leads the training provided to Relationship Bankers working on the teller line by providing training and support.
  • Has the experience and confidence to communicate with customers about their banking needs and to know when to bring in a colleague as an expert.
  • Making deposits for commercial and non-commercial customers, ensuring the proper endorsement of negotiable instruments within these deposits.
  • Leads the process in finding errors and training on preventing errors.
  • Manages the ATM process if ATM is serviced by branch staff as required by location.
  • Manages cash inventory for the branch and cash machine operations to include balancing, auditing and cleaning. Trains branch staff on cash machine procedures.
  • Issues cash to tellers and ensures they have sufficient funds for daily transactions; Assumes responsibility for security of all currency utilized in the department; Assumes responsibility for security of all currency utilized in the department; Ensures that Relationship Bankers adhere to policy; CIP and BSA policies.

2. A banker who maintains a commitment to putting the customer first in every interaction and is a catalyst in the branch for making it a welcoming environment.

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers (internally and externally).
  • Building and enhancing customer relationships by getting to know the customer and what their needs may be.
  • Making reasonable decisions based on customer needs and relationships. Operating with an outlook of "One to say yes" and "Two to say no." Focusing on first contact resolution.

3. Adheres to the Bank's Policies & Procedures, the CIP Program and BSA:

  • Interviews customer to ensure customer security and safety; Notifies management of potential security concerns; Verifies customer information using Work with Persons when handling large currency transactions.
  • Maintains awareness of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Location: This position is based out of our Old North End, Burlington, VT branch.

What You Bring

  • Three (3) years of supervisory or equivalent experience
  • Complete understanding of operational procedures gained through three plus (3+) years of operational experience, expert knowledge of on-line teller system.
  • Ability to use and work knowledge of computers/strong keyboarding skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication
  • Demonstrated managerial skills.
  • Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with Mascoma Bank's appearance policy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer information.
