What will I do as Director of Community Counseling?

Our Community Counseling Program addresses the mental health needs of the poor and underserved, accepting patients who have limited resources or no means to pay. As the Director of the Community Counseling Program, you will:

  • Directly supervises and provides program orientation, training, work direction, and development of 14 to 16 licensed and in-training clinicians.
  • Facilitates regular monthly staff meetings and provides individual staff supervisory meetings on a frequency appropriate to staff needs and abilities.
  • Represent the agency with external constituency groups, including donors, community, governmental, and private organizations, and foundations as needed. Participates in community meetings and committees that are program relevant for purposes of developing collaborations and networking.
  • Responsible for meeting Continuous Quality Improvement standards and all accreditation/licensing requirements, including compliance with state guidelines for Licensed Outpatient Clinics.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) or related counseling field required; Licensed strongly preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience providing mental health and counseling.
  • Progressive experience in a leadership or supervisory role strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player with a passion for developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills both in. Able to tactfully address confidential matters efficiently and discretely.
