Reston Community Center, an agency of Fairfax County Government in Virginia, is seeking to fill one Box Office Manager, full-time merit position (S17) to start by the end of October. Successful applicant will be trained in one or more theatre ticketing software systems and have experience in the field. RCC presents a professional touring artist series, hosts several community-based arts organizations, and offers the community a year-round calendar of special events.
Position supervises all ticketing operations for the Reston Community Center Box Office. This position establishes general procedures for security and monitoring of ticket sales, provides personnel supervision of box office and house management staff and provides public information support related to tickets events and general RCC programs and services.
Position requires and excellent communication stills, strong cash handling and reconciliation knowledge and abilities and ability to manage public safety and comfort. Schedule: Position works evening and many weekends.
This position performs in the assigned functional areas of general administrative support and office administration.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of the programs or activities of the unit served, as well as of the county and departmental administrative guides; Position may require knowledge of basic principles and methods of a technical or professional field. Math Skills Basic math skills. Word Processing/Typing Intermediate skills in use of applicable Microsoft Office Word. PC Skills Intermediate skills in the use of applicable Microsoft Office Suite software; Intermediate skills in the use of agency specific software applications. Communication Ability to communicate well through written and oral means. Information Abilities Ability to gather, integrate, and analyze simple data. Interpersonal Abilities Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both external and internal contacts. Purchasing and Accounting Ability to perform data entry into Purchasing/Logistics Enterprise Resource Planning systems and/or Financial Enterprise Resource Planning systems in at least five functions. Personnel and Payroll Ability to perform complex Human Capital Management Enterprise Resource Planning system functions (e.g., establish a position, create a PCF, determine cost center codes, etc.). Executive Assistance Ability to maintain confidentiality and be sensitive to political issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and three years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and child protective services check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years of experience or an Associate's degree in theatre, accounting, marketing, business management, and/or finance.
- Two or more years of box office management experience.
- Experience recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
- Experience developing and reconciling cash statements and/or shift reports.
- Customer service experience.
- Crowd control and/or house management experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift, load ticket and paper stock into computer printer; ability to stand, sit or bend for extended periods of time; ability to access emergency equipment as necessary. Employee must have manual dexterity to operate keyboard-driven equipment, sort small audit stubs, and related tasks. Work is active. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
