Job Description:

The Payroll Timekeeper is responsible for accurately recording, verifying, and processing employee work hours to ensure timely and precise payroll. This role serves as a liaison between employees, supervisors, and the payroll department to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update timekeeping systems and databases, ensuring all employee data is accurate and current.

  • Accurately track employee hours worked, including regular time, overtime, and absences. This includes collecting and processing Daily Time Correction Forms in a timely manner.

  • Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, time off, and benefits.

  • Review payroll system records for accuracy, verify hours, and resolve discrepancies by working with employees and supervisors.

  • Ensure all employees are paid accurately and on schedule

  • Generate and distribute payroll or attendance reports as requested by management and HR

  • Support payroll audits

  • Recommend improvements to timekeeping processes for efficiency and accuracy

  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.

  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.

  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Prior experience in payroll, timekeeping, or related administrative role preferred

  • Knowledge of basic payroll practices, wage and hour laws, and overtime regulations

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency with timekeeping software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and management.

  • Available to work on weekends and after-hours including holidays.

  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) - fluent in both verbal and written

  • If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.
