Job Description

We are currently hiring a Compensation Specialist in Boston, MA. *A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams' weekly schedule.

As a Compensation Specialist at Boston Beer Company, you'll be instrumental in turning our pay philosophy into action. You'll help shape, support, and manage compensation programs that attract and retain top talent, ensuring our pay practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our culture. In addition to driving compensation strategy, you'll take the lead in energizing our company-wide peer-to-peer recognition program-creating moments that celebrate our people and strengthen engagement across the organization.

What You'll Brew:



  • Compensation

    • Conducting job analysis and evaluations: Determining the value of different jobs within an organization through job descriptions and market analysis.
    • Developing and maintaining compensation structures: Creating and updating salary ranges, pay bands, and other compensation elements.
    • Supporting Pay Changes: Assisting the Compensation Manager with promotion and market adjustment offers to ensure internal and external equity and compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and other federal, state and local regulations
    • Administering compensation programs: Managing annual salary reviews, bonus programs, and other compensation-related initiatives
    • Maintaining job and positions company-wide
    • Complete annual external benchmarking salary surveys
    • Completing mandated federal and state reporting
    • Partnering with payroll to validate compensation elements

  • Recognition

    • Day to day support and administration of our company recognition program and vendor relationship
    • Acts as the main point of contact to deliver recognition awards at our annual company meetings
    • Ad hoc analysis across the organization, as needed

  • Relocation

    • Supports company's relocation policy and vendor relationship
    • Analyzes and informs leadership on spend and trends vs. Policy strategy
    • Process new relocation authorizations, manage exceptions, and assist with coworker

  • Other Responsibilities

    • Monitors the Total Rewards group mailbox to assist with coworker questions along across all aspects of compensation and recognition
    • Manage commuter benefit program
    • Provides support in other areas as needed
    • Company wide org chart maintenance support



What Ingredients You'll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree or 1+ years of work experience
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excell
  • Ability to coordinate complex tasks with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration
  • Ability to commute into our Boston Corporate office (3 days a week)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree, Concentration in Human Resources or Finance
  • 1+ years compensation and/or benefits experience
  • Customer service experience


Level: 7IC

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $56,500 and $106,600. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.Additionally, this position qualifies for an discretionary annual bonus based on company and induvial performance.
