The mission of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers at UCSF is to provide exceptional care, service, innovative design, and research in the field of orthotics and prosthetics. Members of the UCSF O&P team are leaders in the profession and are committed to helping patients regain independence and achieve their optimal level of function. The successful candidate will serve as a full-time clinician within the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers in a large academic medical environment, providing both inpatient and outpatient care to patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive clinical evaluations; implementing a broad spectrum of orthotic and/or prosthetic treatment modalities; and participating in the technical fabrication of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices. In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent will have the opportunity to develop and deliver educational presentations to allied health professionals and serve as a resident instructor, effectively conveying clinical techniques and knowledge in a clear and engaging manner. The position also offers opportunities to participate in clinical research and to contribute to Orthotic and Prosthetic committees focused on education, technology and innovation, research, best practices, and quality improvement.
