Your Role on Our Team:

The Test Lab Technician is a vital part of a growing Quality Test lab team. This team is responsible for executing durability, performance, and environmental tests across multiple Milwaukee Tool products, ensuring our tools meet the highest standards of quality and reliability throughout their lifecycle.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform reliability and durability testing on power tools, hand tools, and accessories using mechanical, electrical, and environmental test methods.
  • Operate, program, and maintain test equipment such as environmental chambers, vibration tables, dynamometers, life-cycle rigs, and custom test fixtures.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and evaluate product samples to prepare for and complete test procedures.
  • Record, organize, and report test data accurately using Microsoft Excel, databases, and reliability tracking systems.
  • Assist engineers with root cause analysis and troubleshooting product failures.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by executing validation testing according to engineering plans.
  • Follow established safety procedures, laboratory standards, and 5S workplace organization practices.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to understand testing intent and deliver data that supports product development decisions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to test methods, fixtures, and documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics is a plus, or a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience in a test lab, manufacturing, or reliability role. (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in product testing, quality, or reliability (preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; strong ability using power tool, ability to understand destructive test equipment, life test equipment, use hand tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficiency with data entry, analysis, and presentation (Excel, Word, Power point and database systems).
  • Ability to read Work Instructions, procedures and engineering prints and follow test instructions accurately.
  • Team player mindset, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and willingness to take on new challenges.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with reliability testing methods such as vibration, drop, thermal cycling, and endurance testing.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical process control (SPC).

Working Conditions

Manufacturing Plant

  • Primarily in a test laboratory environment within a manufacturing plant.
  • Required to carry and/or lift up to 50 pounds several times a day.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • May be exposed to loud noises, moving equipment, and environmental chambers.
  • Usually work indoors, occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions.
  • Are occasionally exposed to contaminants.
  • Are occasionally exposed to hazardous equipment.
  • Sometimes work within a few feet of other workers.
