Responsibilities

Peraton requires Service Modernization Managers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM.

This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Reporting to the Service Modernization and Automation Lead, the Service Modernization Manager (SMM) owns the full lifecycle of modernization initiatives-from assessment and planning through implementation, sustainment, and retirement-ensuring alignment with ITSM governance, RMF compliance, and ServiceNow automation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

    Lead modernization and automation efforts for a defined service domain, with full lifecycle ownership from cradle to grave.
  • Act as the primary point of contact-responsible and accountable for planning, executing, and sustaining modernization initiatives that optimize existing services and align with enterprise mission objectives.
  • Manage assigned modernization initiatives with designated resources and skill sets, including matrixed personnel from enterprise operations work centers, HQ elements, Component Commands, and TSOCs. Oversee technical exchange meetings, schedules, milestones, and tasking to ensure coordinated execution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Conduct service assessments to identify opportunities for workflow optimization, automation, and performance improvement.
  • Develop and execute modernization roadmaps in coordination with stakeholders, technical teams, and governance bodies.
  • Implement standardized workflows and automation strategies that reduce manual effort and enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure domain-specific modernization efforts align with ITSM policies, RMF requirements, and enterprise mission objectives.
  • Collaborate with other SMMs and COE leadership to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and cross-domain integration.
  • Track performance metrics, report progress, and drive continuous improvement across the service portfolio.
  • Support sustainment planning, documentation, and transition strategies for legacy service retirement or transformation.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 12 years with HS degree, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with a PHD
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience managing service transformation efforts within enterprise IT environments
  • Strong understanding of service lifecycle management, workflow design, and automation principles
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service operations and transition practices
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive measurable outcomes

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with ServiceNow workflow automation and reporting
  • Familiarity with RMF, ATO processes, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks
  • ITIL v4 certification
  • Domain-specific expertise in Cyber, Network, Cloud, Virtualization, or Core IT services
  • PMP or PgMP certification

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
