Responsible for the development, coordination, execution, and monitoring of clinical education for Kearney Regional Medical Center (KRMC) in collaboration with department managers and educators. Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of department specific orientation programs and is responsible for hospital wide general nursing orientation.

Job Functions:




  1. Is oriented to and trained in at least one acute care department to facilitate relationships with all staff members and to gain knowledge in the different areas and service lines.
  2. *Coordinates and implements education for staff ensuring that hospital policy is followed.
  3. *Coordinates and implements education and training for staff according to federal and state regulations.
  4. Develops and reviews hospital policies and procedures as assigned. Provides education to necessary staff regarding policy implementation and updates.
  5. *Monitors and evaluates each department's individual needs for education and implements education in a way that meets the need of the individual staff member.
  6. *Monitors education compliance and completion and reports deficiencies to the respective department manager.
  7. Treats staff, patients and families with respect and dignity, and accommodates different learning styles accordingly.
  8. Consults other departments, leadership team, and providers as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
  9. Implements and assists in hospital wide performance improvement activities.
  10. Provides education to staff on performance improvement and participates in guidance and educational programs.
  11. Maintains a good working relationship and effective communication both within the department and with other departments for the benefit of the patient.
  12. Coordinates all certification courses (BLS, PALS, ACLS, etc.) in conjunction with KRMC Human Resources.
  13. Is a certified instructor for courses and teaches them as needed.
  14. Assists with clinical departments to ensure competencies are developed and completed appropriately, both for new hires and annually.
  15. Coordinates annual nursing skills fair and CNA skills fair in collaboration with the education and management teams.
  16. Assists with online education resource management.
  17. Provides direct patient care as needed.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelors degree. Masters degree preferred. Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Minimum of two (2) years of bedside nursing experience required. Additional two (2) years of experience in an education role or formal training in education preferred.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program or Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required within three (3) months of hire.

Minimum of one (1) instructor certification (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM) required within six (6) months of hire.
