Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Lead to oversee and manage all aspects of cybersecurity operations for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) program. The Cybersecurity Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of the USCG's IT infrastructure, systems, and data. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage cybersecurity operations, provide strategic guidance, and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and policies.

As the Cybersecurity Lead, you will be responsible for implementing and managing a robust cybersecurity program, overseeing threat and vulnerability management, and ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. You will work closely with USCG stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to protect the USCG's IT environment from cyber threats and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

    Cybersecurity Program Management:
    • Lead the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive cybersecurity program for the USCG IMS environment.
    • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, including NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, Privacy Act, DoD cybersecurity standards, and USCG-specific requirements.
    • Oversee the execution of the Cybersecurity Continuous Monitoring Plan and ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Threat and Vulnerability Management:
    • Manage the identification, assessment, and remediation of vulnerabilities across the USCG IT infrastructure.
    • Oversee the implementation of proactive threat detection, monitoring, and response strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and oversee the development of RMF artifacts and documentation.
    • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain system accreditations, including Authority to Operate (ATO) and Authority to Connect (ATC).
  • Incident Response and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures to address potential cybersecurity incidents.
    • Lead cybersecurity incident investigations, coordinate with USCG stakeholders, and provide detailed reports on findings and resolutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all cybersecurity-related matters for the USCG IMS program.
    • Collaborate with USCG stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to address cybersecurity concerns and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, ensuring the team is equipped to address evolving cybersecurity challenges.
    • Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to the cybersecurity team and other program stakeholders.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science and 12 years experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI access.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing cybersecurity programs in a federal or DoD environment.
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent certification required.
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Certified Technology Business Management Executive (CTBME) certifications are required. Waiver period may be granted by the customer in order to obtain these certifications on a case by case basis.
  • Cybersecurity Standards: Demonstrated understanding and experience with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, and/or technology related degree.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), or Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) are highly desirable.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
