Senior Pricing Manager

The Sr. Pricing Manager is responsible for developing and leading the pricing function enterprise wide. This individual will be initially responsible for insourcing a pricing function which is currently outsourced to an external firm. This leader serves as a strategic partner to both divisional presidents within the organization to drive pricing strategies broadly across the organization through data and analysis. Initially, this role is an individual contributor with potential to expand the team once the function is established and will report to the Sr. Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales leadership to develop customized pricing strategies
  • Make recommendations to senior leadership about pricing strategies based on customer profiles, risk, technology and historical usage analysis
  • Develop and implement targeted pricing actions across segments to proactively maximize profit
  • Analyze historical pricing data by customer, product, market, etc. to identify pricing opportunities and inform pricing decisions and recommendations
  • Negotiate and influence internally with field management to encourage adoption and testing of new pricing structures and strategies; pricing decisions are decentralized within the field
  • Develop and enhance pricing data models, processes, and technical tools to manage pricing across the enterprise, using data from multiple systems
  • Collaborate with finance, customer set up, billing, operations, sales, and other teams to input and adhere to pricing adjustments
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over the pricing activities to ensure compliance; Create analytics to identify where pricing leakage is occurring
  • Assess the financial impact of various pricing scenarios
  • Provide pricing recommendations and participate in strategic and tactical customer negotiation planning and execution
  • Understands and manages contractual pricing commitments
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on various special projects as they arise under the direction of executive leadership team
  • Build relationships with all relevant internal customers, partners and other stakeholders
  • Liaise with other business functions to identify and deploy operational best practices-both regionally and within individual business units.
  • Drive new pricing strategies for incremental value capture.
  • Manage pricing process and exception review.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required; with concentration in finance, business, or marketing; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in pricing, sales, finance, or a combination of functions, ideally in industries where pricing is fluid, such as services, distribution, etc.
  • Proficiency in financial data modeling and advanced Excel skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven decision and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented;
  • Excellent business acumen;
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and independently;
  • Ability to work in a rapidly change, matrixed environment;
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and building data visualization.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
