Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Assistant Director, Division of HIV and Hepatitis Health Care (DHHHC) will be responsible for assisting with the direction of program planning, design, implementation, and evaluation, including resource allocation; policy formulation related to DHHHC programs and services and ensuring that activities align with DHHHC and AIDS Institute priorities. The position will also be assisting in the direction of management of DHHHC units, programs, and activities; representing the division and the AIDS Institute; and supervising staff. Specific duties include assisting in the direction and oversight of grant and contract deliverables and special Ending the Epidemic (ETE) projects; and assisting in directing data, evaluation, and quality improvement strategies for DHHHC programs and legislative initiatives; quality management activities and other appropriate duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of experience in the direction and/or management of an HIV/AIDS or other relevant program in a public health, health/human services, health regulatory program or community-based services organization; OR an Associate degree in a related field and eight years of such experience; OR ten years of such experience. The years of experience must have included policy formulation, program planning, design, implementation, evaluation, and/or allocation of resources. At least four years of experience must have included supervision of staff and program management. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

At least five years of experience in the supervision of staff; at least five years of program management experience; at least three years of experience with grant management; demonstrated experience with public speaking in a local, state, or national setting. At least two years of experience interpreting data and/or conducting data analysis; at least two years of experience in developing guidance and policies.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel up to 25% of the time will be required.

The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.

This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.
