What to Expect
Tesla is seeking highly motivated Laboratory Technicians to join our cutting-edge Battery Cell Manufacturing Program. In this role, the technician will perform routine quality testing and support failure analysis processes by conducting image analysis with a strong focus on safety, quality, and output. Working closely with quality engineering teams under lab management guidance, the role thrives in a demanding, fast-paced, and exciting environment. The ideal candidate is prepared to push boundaries and contribute to a highly capable and motivated team.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to perform routine CT image analysis in a 24/7 cell manufacturing quality laboratory
- Execute various measurement tasks on battery cells following established procedures, including multi-point metrology and data collection
- Prepare samples for destructive testing as part of quality analysis
- Conduct computed tomography image analysis and interpret data in a high-volume environment
- Maintain inventory of consumable supplies to ensure uninterrupted lab operations
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to uphold operational standards
- Enforce 5S and workplace hygiene standards to maintain a safe and organized environment
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality or engineering support environment
- Experience with the operation of industrial radiographic equipment and interpretation of multi-planar imaging is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring high accuracy and precision
- Capability to work independently and in a collaborative, project-focused setting with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfort with handling hazardous materials in a laboratory environment
- Command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Essential Physical Demands:
- Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with lab work, such as safely moving heavy objects, moving large pallets with a pallet jack, handling incoming materials, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., along with repetitive pushing, lifting and pulling
