This role is temporary with the potential for permanent employment after 90 days. The Executive Transportation & Security Specialist is based in Chicago, IL.

What the day will look like

This role includes responsibility for providing secure driving services to assigned principals in a manner that is professional, courteous, and compliant with standard operating procedures and recognized best practices. Operational plans must be followed, and established security protocols adhered to, as directed by the Global Head of Special Protections. High-pressure situations are expected to be handled with resilience and discretion, ensuring that all actions are performed in alignment with organizational standards and confidentiality requirements.

  • Prepare and/or coordinate daily activity reports, maintenance logs, and/or vehicle records.
  • Safeguard and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Assess potential risks to the principal through collaboration with Global Intelligence, available OSINT, and whenever possible conducting advance security reconnaissance prior to all driving engagements.
  • Maintain a constant state of readiness to respond to security and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to provide emergency first aid and CPR if needed and be actively certified in both.
  • Threat mitigation and risk identification responsibilities via proactive means, site visits, and pre-planning security of events where needed.
  • Maintain and keep vehicle in optimal operating readiness.
  • Willing to schedule vacation and time off coordinated with the principal's schedule.
  • Maintain relationships with local and federal law enforcement agencies.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Must have completed a defensive and offensive driving school whether private (Vehicle Dynamics, AS3 Driving etc.) or government.
  • Specially training in route analysis, escape and evasion, vehicle dynamics, and emergency action planning/medical procedures.
  • Government, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years in a security role is required.
  • Trained or experience in Executive Protection, Residential Security and Secure Driving.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Able to use good judgment and act in a decisive manner in emergency situations.
Requirements:
  • Valid Illinois driving license.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends with little notice in support of your assigned principle.
  • Must be physically fit and void of medical conditions that prevent successful completion of listed responsibilities and requirements.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $115,000 - $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

Aon offers a benefits package for temporary and seasonal employees who will work 20 or more hours per week including: medical, dental, and vision insurance at the employee's expense, critical illness insurance, 10 company holidays per calendar year (paid, if eligible), paid sick leave as provided under state and local law, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions. Eligibility for benefits are governed by the applicable plan documents and policies.
