Role of a Business Analyst
Identifies, documents, and implements best practices for business processes and procedures related to Recology's Accounts Receivables (A/R) and Alternate Accounts Receivables (ALTAR) systems. Collaborates with Business Systems Services and IT teams to understand user needs and system requirements to document, train, help to implement and assimilate to changes as necessary. This is a hybrid position, requiring three (3) days per week in-office and the rest remote.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides analytical support, and acts as a primary consultant to programmers and technical staff on AR/ALTAR functional use.
- Provides troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of AR/ALTAR, KUBRA and Trancentra issues which may require technical or functional remedies.
- Leads or performs data-analysis and clean-up activities for AR/ALTAR-related special projects such as: rate changes, company conversions to AR/ALTAR, billing system changes, system break-fixes, and company-wide data-standardization initiatives.
- Approves AR/ALTAR enhancements from standpoint of user impact/training before they are introduced into production.
- Provides on-site support and training for sites integrating into AR/ALTAR.
- Provides on-site support and training for sites integrating into Transcentra for ALTAR billing.
- Troubleshoots Showcase reporting platform queries and reports. Support user requests to enhance existing reports, and to write new reports.
- Leads and serves on best-practice teams for customer service, providing technical expertise and functional leadership.
- Resolves user support tickets related to AR/ALTAR.
- Delivers instructor-led training sessions - in person, and WebEx -- for AR/ALTAR related functions which include customer service, operations, and accounting personnel.
- Creates function-specific, turn-key AR/ALTAR curriculum that can be delivered on demand, and used by local management to train new hires.
- Documents and publishes written reference for the use of AR/ALTAR for audiences which include customer service, operations, and accounting personnel.
- Creates instructional videos on key AR/ALTAR functions.
- Travels 50%-75% locally, out of town, and occasionally out of state depending on business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical business systems experience to include troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivables and billing processes.
- Ability to verbally convey detailed information in an informative concise manner.
- Technical writing abilities or experience.
- Experience delivering trainings preferred.
- Able to travel frequently based on business needs.
- Advanced Computer Systems aptitude. Knowledge of billing systems and technical report writing systems, Showcase a plus.
- Strong MSOffice; advanced skills in Excel desired.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
