DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for inspecting and performing accuracy tests on weighing and measuring devices utilized in commercial transactions. Your duties will include examining packages and commodities sold by weight, measure, or count, as well as auditing the inspections conducted by Certified Examiners of Weights and Measures. You will investigate claims of fraud and abuse related to the sale of commodities, taking enforcement actions such as marking devices as rejected, temporarily or permanently removing them from service, or pursuing legal action through citations and penalties. Additionally, you will verify the accuracy of price look-up and universal product code scanning systems, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, participate in necessary technical training, engage with industry representatives and the public, and conduct assessments of biofuel and fuel quality. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position will be home-headquartered if applicant lives in Montgomery County.
- Travel will be required to cover counties in Region 7, which includes Chester, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of public contact work, including one year of experience in weights and measures inspections; and graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the requisite knowledge and skills and abilities with weights and measures inspections.
Additional Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
