DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Contract Monitoring Specialist works for the Department of Human Services, specifically in the Office of Children, Youth and Families. Responsibilities include reading contracts, communicating with providers, and participating in meetings about rates and terms. You will be expected to analyze program effectiveness and monitor compliance with contracts, regulations, and budgets. The Specialist will meet with provider staff to explain contract requirements and provide training. Work involves performing inspections of provider facilities and reviewing paperwork for compliance. Attention to detail will be key as you ensure that providers understand financial requirements, review financial records, and manage payment requests. In this vital role, you will evaluate and recommend new programs based on data analysis and serve as a link between DHS and providers to resolve issues. Additional duties include maintaining databases, preparing reports, and assisting in policy development while supporting other specialists as needed. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Possibly working in the field after hours for issues or emergencies.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to two days per week after six months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional level experience in the field of children, youth and families; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
