Position Summary

Provides leadership to Nutritional Services, Lactation and Milk Depot departments through the direction and management of overall operations. Responsible for all aspects of care delivered including financial management and oversight, engagement, work force management and competency/professional practice. Provides oversight to the monitoring and evaluation of quality of clinical nutrition/lactation care received by patients and regulatory performance improvement processes for areas of responsibility. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH.



Role Accountabilities Include:



  • Develops strategic goals and objectives for the areas of responsibility and devises plans to achieve those goals while ensuring optimal patient care. Upholds and models, mission, vision and values of JHACH and promotes integration of care across the three areas
  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Nutrition, Lactation and Milk Depot cost centers to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of services offered. Develops and implements work plans and measures against established standards.
  • Provides financial and budgetary oversight, via analysis of the areas of responsibilities, for performance, including explanation and justification of actual vs. budget variations of core cost centers. Oversees the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget for the areas of responsibility.
  • Oversees quality assurance and performance improvement activities for the areas of responsibilities, including monitoring compliance with established standards and external regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Supports collaborative relationships with physicians, clinical staff and community stakeholders. Ensures collaboration and integration of pediatric clinical nutrition and lactation services across the organization and community.
  • Ensures new and revised department and/or Clinical Policies, Procedures, Guidelines and Standards of Care are reviewed and updated to meet regulatory requirements and/or hospital/departmental needs.
  • Collaborates in the planning and development of clinical nutrition education programs for nutrition professionals, etc.
  • Accomplishes human resources management objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews job contributions. Enforces policies and procedures. Ensures department is adequately staffed. Plans and reviews compensation actions and manages payroll records and costs.



Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Dietetics, Business Administration or a closely related field preferred
  • Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Dietetics/Nutritionist Licensure State of Florida
  • 5-7 years of progressive supervisory experience required
  • Proficiency in the field of Dietetics acquired through a minimum of five years (5) of professional experience in healthcare. pediatric preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • Excellent communication skills necessary to direct, persuade, negotiate, counsel, mediate conflicts, and build effective working relationships with peers and subordinates.



Salary Range: $125,000 per year - $145,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
