About Vantage Data Centers

Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world's well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

Energy Department

The Energy Department is dedicated to managing and optimizing the energy resources required to power our data centers while promoting sustainability and efficiency. The Energy department plays a critical role in ensuring our power solutions are cost-effective, support speed to market, have sufficient scale to meet growing AI load, and resilient to energy market fluctuations. The team focuses on energy procurement from utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), energy marketers, and renewable energy technology providers.

Position Overview

This role can be based remotely in Eastern Standard Time or Central Standard Time.

The Energy Delivery Manager plays a critical role in delivering power infrastructure for Vantage Data Centers' regional campus developments. This role is responsible for leading utility engagement, managing commercial delivery execution, and coordinating cross-functional workstreams to ensure on-time and cost-effective power delivery. While regulatory and policy support remains an important component-particularly given Wisconsin's active regulatory environment-the role is primarily focused on business execution, stakeholder coordination, and utility relationship management.

The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills and a proactive approach to navigating complex utility landscapes. This role will be the key interface with WE Energies, American Transmission Company (ATC), the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW), and internal teams to align utility service timelines with development and construction schedules, commercial goals, and customer readiness.

Essential Job Functions

Utility Strategy & Execution

  • Manage utility execution for active development and construction projects across the Eastern U.S. and Canada

  • Lead workstreams with electric utilities to track interconnection requests, service agreements, and energization milestones

  • Coordinate across internal teams to align utility execution with construction schedules and commercial commitments

  • Escalate and mitigate utility delivery risks that could impact customer RFS dates or operational readiness

Stakeholder & Internal Coordination

  • Serve as the primary business interface with major utilities in the region (e.g., Hydro-Quebec, AEP, Hydro One, PJM IOUs)

  • Align work between Legal, Construction, Operations, Engineering, Development, and Policy teams

  • Represent Vantage in external meetings with utility executives, municipal stakeholders, and permitting entities

  • Maintain and report on key project metrics, schedule risks, and utility contract execution

Regulatory & Policy Support

  • Assist in the coordination of permitting, transmission approvals, and interagency review processes as required

  • Support Legal and Policy teams with tracking regional energy policy developments, transmission investment programs, and carbon reduction initiatives

  • Help prepare documentation for stakeholder briefings, regulatory consultations, and internal approvals

Sustainability Integration

  • Collaborate with Sustainability and Policy teams to identify renewable and carbon-free energy solutions in both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions

  • Support utility engagements tied to green tariffs, REC's, and clean energy program enrollment

Additional Duties:

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, energy systems, engineering, or related field

  • 6-10 years of experience in utility project execution, stakeholder coordination, or energy infrastructure development

  • Experience working with U.S. or Canadian utilities (e.g., Hydro-Quebec, PJM members, AEP, Hydro One, Ontario Power Generation) preferred

  • Familiarity with Canadian utility regulation and provincial energy ministries is a strong asset

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management background preferred

  • French language proficiency (verbal and written) is a plus for Canadian coordination

Skills:

  • Strong utility project management and execution skills

  • Confident stakeholder manager across business, policy, and technical teams

  • Effective communicator with cross-border and multicultural experience

  • Proficiency in tracking tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana) and document workflows

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing high-volume schedules across multiple jurisdictions

  • Willingness to travel regionally (up to 45%) within the Eastern U.S. and Canada

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 50% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
