We use a combination of chemical screening techniques, in vivo microscopy, molecular biology and genetics to study problems related to meiosis and infertility. We work with yeast, C. elegans and mouse testis cultures. The applicant would be responsible for screening chemicals in one or all of the organisms. The applicant will be required carry out experiments to elucidate the mechanism of action of identified toxicants. It is expected that the candidate will keep up with the literature. Other responsibilities include supervising general lab safety and organization. The applicant is expected to keep good lab notebooks, report to the supervisor minimally weekly and learn to be relatively independent. The applicant is expected to attend lab meetings and present results. You also may have to work with undergraduates who come to the lab during the summer. Required Qualifications:
