SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

Responsible for the Loan Ops controls of complex commercial loans to include booking new/renewed/modified loans, and all servicing components. Servicing includes, payment processing, loan account maintenance, advanced processing from agent banks, disbursements and rate change communications to participant banks, loan payoffs, etc. This will be performed for the products defined as Specialty Commercial which includes: complex Syndicated and Participated deals, Letters of Credit, ARC and SWAP deals, Franchised lending, Leases, etc. Partners with Commercial and Middle Market Bankers to assist and be prepared for new deals. Ensures that all manuals and procedures are kept current; keeps up-to-date on all changes to bank policies, procedures, regulations; assist with and support special initiatives or projects, including M&A.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Review and interpret executed, critical loan documents (including attorney prepared) that provide terms and conditions for ongoing management of the loan that includes loan billing, disbursements, critical dates, and payoff criteria.
  • Board all new, renewed and modified Specialty Commercial loans/lines of credit with a high degree of accuracy and within specified SLAs.
  • Perform all required servicing of Specialty Commercial loans: suspense posting, loan payoffs, account maintenance, payment posting, payoff and advance processing from Agent Banks, disbursements/rate changes to participant banks and detailed servicing of SWAP/ARC deals.
  • Research and resolve any out of balance issues with Participation, Suspense and SWAP general ledgers related to the servicing of the loans.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Commercial and Middle Market business lines as needed when addressing new deals questions on servicing and/or solutions that establish efficiencies.
  • Support projects to establish, test and implement new products and/or lines of business.
  • Connect regularly with other teams to build positive, working relationships that promote the bank's customer focus and respond timely to all inquiries from customers, lenders/LOAs, and other bank personnel.
  • Assist commercial business partners in resolving issues and exceptions.
  • Review and maintain various departmental reports in order to identify trends or areas of concern.
  • Participate in conversion related activities as needed. This will include data collection, process discussions, data mapping, testing phases, production conversion, and post-conversion monitoring, etc.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial servicing/lending role is required. Must have in-depth knowledge of complex commercial loans and loan documentation to include syndications & interest rate swaps. Loan Servicing experience and/or experience with FiServ Premier Systems is preferred.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Proficiencies in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information via various computer systems, documents, and reports. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and requires a large amount of time in front of a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is located in the office; however when working remotely must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. Must also have a reliable, private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required for training, meetings, etc. as needed.
