Automation & SCADA Engineer

BASIC PURPOSE:

Support automation and electrical engineering development and support across production equipment. Bonus learning opportunity includes contributing to SCADA and MES development using Inductive Automation's Ignition platform.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Programming and integrating industrial robots for production automation

* Designing, programming, and maintaining PLC and HMI systems

* Configuring and deploying industrial vision systems for inspection and quality assurance

* Developing electrical schematics and managing panel builds

* Supporting machine commissioning and troubleshooting on the production floor

* Creating and maintaining SCADA/MES applications in Ignition (Perspective)

* Creating and submitting purchasing requisitions and appropriation requests for controls and electrical systems

* Supporting continuous improvement, reliability, and downtime reduction initiatives

COMPETENCIES:

* Experience in PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens)

* Experience with robotic programming (e.g., FANUC, ABB, UR, Yaskawa)

* Understanding of machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)

* Experience with Inductive Automation's Ignition platform preferred

* Knowledge of electrical design tools and/or methodology (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical)

* Preferred Working knowledge of Python and SQL in industrial contexts

* Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

* A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline

* 0-2 years of experience or equivalent education and experience in automation and controls

* Must have working knowledge of robotics, control systems, and SCADA/MES platforms

* Experience in manufacturing environments with hands-on equipment support preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time

* Use of computer from 1-8 hours per day

* Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Possible travel, domestic or overseas
