Job Overview

The Assistant, Supply Planning supports the Supply Planning team in maximizing Macy's Private Brands' network capacity, ensuring inventory availability, enhancing overall operating efficiencies, and reducing lead times. This role is responsible for converting demand plans from the Merchandise Planning and Allocation teams into precise category supply plans, which facilitate better allocation and reservation of capacity with established vendors.

What You Will Do



  • Support the Private Brand Replenishment process and its transition from the RWI model, including both Direct and Indirect vendors:

    • Participate in the monthly demand review process with merchants and the Merch Planning & Allocation (MP&A) team to ensure projections align with strategy and financial goals
    • Create Master Contracts accurately and in a timely manner
    • Maintain detailed and accurate records in the Replenishment Assortment & Projection Tracker
    • Communicate updated supply projections monthly to Sourcing, OSO, and vendors to ensure production capacity meets inventory needs
    • Use reporting tools such as Tableau and MC Query to gather, organize, and manipulate data for analytical and reporting purposes
    • Build Replenishment T&A calendars
    • Support the VMI initiative by modifying calendars and managing communication flow with vendors
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure adherence; communicate findings to relevant internal teams



Skills You Will Need

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to understand, predict, and enhance the supply planning process

Attention to Detail: Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of diving into specifics while maintaining accuracy

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with various teams and stakeholders

Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use reporting tools like Tableau and MC Query to gather and manipulate data

Collaboration: Highly collaborative individual who can work seamlessly with multiple teams and at various organizational levels

Supply Planning Knowledge: Solid understanding of supply planning analytics, including inventory position balancing, Weeks of Supply (WOS), product turnover, and demand signal intelligence

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, ensuring timely completion of projects and initiatives

Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and processes, particularly during the transition of the Private Brand Replenishment process

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
