Senior Software Engineer

This is a hybrid role based in our new york office. Our hybrid model means you'll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

• Playing a pivotal role in establishing, defining, scoping and scaling the engineering / team roadmap and priorities.
• Developing high quality code, including participating in testing and maintenance of that code.
• Applying pragmatic engineering approaches to deliver value to customers.
• Collaborating across a variety of partnerships internally - e.g. Product Management, Design, Architecture, Operations, QA, UX and other Engineers - to help estimate work, design scalable and performant solutions that will delight our customers, and produce high quality production-grade software.
• Being seen as a lead engineer who focuses and aligns on the team objectives.
• Following agile process (Scrum) to make sure your deliverables are visible for the entire team and company stakeholders.
• Mentoring other Engineers, leveraging your experience and knowledge.

• Professional expertise in scaling Java applications.
• Experience with either Spring or Spring Boot, with demonstrable understanding of best practices and function.
• Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (preferably PostgresQL) and ability to demonstrate real-world interactions in the role of a backend engineer.
• Experience partnering - or leading - through architectural design translation to development.
• Work experience in building and designing SaaS software for deployment to the Cloud.
• Knowledge of OO principles, Design Patterns, functional programming and clean code principles.
• Experience with Agile process (Scrum) in developing and delivering software.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and being the lead engineer of projects in your career.
• It is a plus if you have:
  - Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  - Experience with multiple cloud platforms e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP.
  - Experience in building and designing effective CI\CD Pipelines.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
• This is a full time employment position. As of this time, we are not considering freelance or B2B arrangements for this role.

• Within your first month, you will attend our onboarding program and get familiar with the environment we use, the way we implement software as an organization, simple business use cases and submit code to production.
• By your third month, you will be implementing new user stories with quality and care, and understand what value they will bring to our customers.
• By your sixth month, you will be a productive member / lead engineer of the Data Export team, reliably delivering quality code, participating in testing and on your way to many interesting challenges and growth opportunities.

The standard base salary range for this position is $204,000.00 - $255,000.00 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
