The Department of Neurology is searching for an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide comprehensive care to pediatric Neurology patients with a focus on management of neurological conditions, medication management, and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary team.
Clinical Care The APP will provide direct patient care through in-person visits which include assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of pediatric neurological conditions. The APP will cultivate a patient centric environment and serves as the focal professional for the continuity of care in patient care within scope of practice standards, as well as specialty standards. The APP provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. The APP in the ambulatory setting, provides optimal patient care, from diagnostic to prognostic matters. The APP works in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physicians in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways and may provide team-based care. The APP obtains medical histories, performs histories, performs physical examinations, review/orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, formulates and manages patient treatment plans. The APP may perform procedures, prescribes treatment and medications in accordance with institutional and state guidelines, as well as when necessary for scope within specialty or professional competency standards. Consistently maintains high productivity according to departmental standards. Patient Education The APP will educate patients/families on care and recommended or available resources. In collaboration with supervising/collaborating MD. The APP as a part of a multidisciplinary team provide psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner. The APP will provide care coordination through collaboration with physicians, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients. The APP will apply evidence-based principles and guidelines for Pediatric Neurological treatment, staying updated on the latest research and clinical recommendations. Documentation The APP ensures appropriate documentation within the accordance of hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information of all forms. Quality management The APP is expected to demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Engages in daily continuous quality improvement by identifying and implementing processes for improvement. The APP will also ensure compliance with patient related healthcare regulatory requirements, standards and recommendations. The chosen candidate will provide comprehensive clinical care of Pediatric Neurology patients. Provide appropriate medical procedures consistent with departmental guidelines, privileging, and clinical roles/responsibilities. The selected candidate will manage various Neurological conditions. This individual will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nursing, social workers and other healthcare providers to deliver holistic care. In collaboration with patients, pharmacists, care coordinators, and while navigating an evolving payor landscape, the incumbent will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including counseling, lifestyle modification, and medication management. Additionally, the incumbent will provide ongoing support and education to patients and families. Clinical: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Master's Degree as an Advance Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or as an Advance Practice Provider - Physician Assistant PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling/bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Position Compensation Range: $46.59 - $74.54 HourlyBenefits
