Compensation Grade: H96Compensation Details: Minimum: $20.50 - Maximum: $20.50 HourlyDepartment (OPH) CEH - Bureau Of Occupational Health And Injury PreventionJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to work within the Bureau of Occupational Health and Injury Prevention, New York State Department of Health. The Hourly Project Assistant I will support a surveillance project aimed at identifying and characterizing work-related respiratory conditions in New York State using the SPARCS (Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System) and Workers' Compensation datasets. The incumbent's primary responsibilities will include conducting targeted literature reviews and assisting with data retrieval to support case identification and validation. The intern may also support data analysis activities related to geospatial mapping, predictive modeling, and public-facing dashboards, depending on interest and qualifications and perform other appropriate related duties. Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, or a related field; OR three years of experience in public health data analysis, epidemiology, or health surveillance. Conditions of Employment Hourly, grant funded position expected until approximately 06/30/2026. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
