Position Title: Cost Accountant
Wage: $88,000 - $110,000/year Our Mundelein, IL client, a respected manufacturer, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys analyzing data, optimizing processes, and partnering with operations to improve cost efficiency. You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate cost data, supporting inventory control, and delivering actionable insights to leadership. This is a full-time, direct hire, fully onsite position that offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package. Cost Accountant Responsibilities: - Serve as assistant/backup to the Operations Finance Manager - Assist with month-end close, inventory evaluation, and inventory roll forward - Maintain the inventory relief process for subcomponents and high-level parts - Support quarterly physical inventories and perform cycle counts - Analyze inventory variances and resolve discrepancies - Set and update standard costs for manufactured goods - Analyze cost accounting data for operations, labor, shipping, and administration - Recommend process and policy changes to reduce costs and improve profitability - Advise executives and leadership on costing strategies - Stay current on cost accounting trends and best practices - Participate in special projects and other assigned duties Requirements for Cost Accountant: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - 2+ years of cost accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred - Strong knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards - Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office and ERP systems - Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills - Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes - Strong work ethic, positive attitude and collaborative mindset Why You'll Love This Opportunity: - Join a reputable, growth-focused manufacturing organization - Make an immediate impact in cost control and operational efficiency If you are interested in this Cost Accountant job in Mundelein, IL then please click APPLY NOW.
