Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Relations Specialist, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Engineering Development Complex in Tullahoma, TN. The Relations Specialist will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The Relations Specialist will play a key role in maintaining healthy relationships between employees and management. The Relations Specialist will handle workplace conflicts, ensure compliance with labor laws, and promote a respectful environment. This position reports to the Relations Manager.

Job Duties:

    Investigate internal complaints of alleged discrimination and/or harassment; meets with persons involved in complaints in order to verify case information, summarizes findings and provides recommendations for corrective action if appropriate.
  • Conduct investigations, resolve complaints, and develop responses on employee concerns, and other sensitive and complex employee relations issues, including bargaining unit employees.
  • Mediate disputes between employees or between staff and management.
  • Advise leadership on HR policies, disciplinary actions, and legal compliance.
  • Facilitate communication across departments or with external parties.
  • Make certain Company work rules and policies are enforced uniformly across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labor and Industrial Relations, Business Administration/Management, or other related field with a minimum of 5 years of progressive and relevant Labor Relations experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive and relevant Labor Relations experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of and successfully demonstrated experience with administrative management of Employee/Labor Relations activities typically related to:
    • Domestic and employment law
    • Labor contract grievance processes and procedures
    • Negotiating labor agreements
    • Mediation and arbitration processes and procedures
    • Experience with Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service processes
    • Experience with National Labor Relations Board processes
    • Service Contract Act
    • Davis-Bacon Act
    • Building Construction Trades
    • Conflict management and resolution
  • Understanding of issues around work readiness and know how to mitigate common problems.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with management and the unions.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication.
