Position Overview:


Consulting Services Group (CSG) is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer to support a dynamic mission environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong initiative, technical depth, and the ability to drive medium and large projects across multiple platforms and environments. The position will provide security guidance to development teams while embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Threat Detection & Prevention: Monitor networks, analyze cyber threats, and respond to malicious activity.
  • Secure Development (DevSecOps): Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, automate security testing, and prevent vulnerabilities early in the lifecycle.
  • Cloud & On-Prem Security: Protect AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments as well as on-prem Windows and Linux hosts.
  • Incident Response & Forensics: Investigate security events, mitigate risks, and support system recovery.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure alignment with security frameworks and regulations (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • Apply sound judgment and initiative to solve technical problems, develop repeatable solutions, and create clear technical documentation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship. Sponsorship for employment-based visas (e.g., H-1B, OPT, Green Card) is not available.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in this discipline; experience requirements may be adjusted based on education or certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management
    • SDLC and secure development practices
    • Scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell)
    • Cloud security principles and secure architecture
    • Container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • DevOps/CI-CD and IaC concepts
    • Regulatory and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to work well within collaborative, cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and staying current on security trends.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite in Herndon, Virginia. Remote telework is not available.
  • Minimal local travel in the DC metro area required. Some travel to data centers is required.
  • This is a full-time position working normal business hours, Monday to Friday, with weekends and holidays off.
  • Work is typically performed in an office and/or data center environment, requiring computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
