Job Summary:

The HR Specialist will perform general HR functions and assist in the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources office

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Process incoming new hire and termination paperwork
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws
  • Maintain 401(k) records
  • Maintain FMLA records
  • Process unemployment paperwork and participate in unemployment telephone hearings
  • Answer employment verification requests
  • Field general questions and concerns from employees by telephone
  • File Multiple Worksite Report on a quarterly basis
  • File EEO-1 report on an annual basis
  • Complete projects for Vice-President of HR as requested
  • Assist payroll as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company software
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of general human resources principles

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree OR High School diploma and equivalent experience

Working Conditions:

  • Indoors
  • Office Environment
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Frequent use of telephone
