Demand Engineering Manager

Georgia-Pacific's Building Products Division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Demand Engineering Manager opportunity, supporting our Building Products Operations. Based out of our Headquarters located in Atlanta, GA, the individuals in these roles provide Project Engineering and Project Management (PE/PM) expertise to support capital investments up to $100 Million. PE / PMs are assigned multiple projects to manage simultaneously.

This role will oversee project managers and projects across our Building Products Division with facilities located in the United States and Canada. This is a remote position with up to 75% travel (depending on project needs).

The ideal candidate will be based in the Southeast of the US (Texas to Virginia).

What You Will Do

• Providing leadership with analysis, review, and oversite to the capital projects being executed across the Building Products division. Leading/performing process checks and studies to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
• They provide training to the team of Project managers that are leading the various projects.
• Providing direct plant support in troubleshooting, asset strategies, project development and execution.
• Supporting and developing a network of plant asset owners through mentorship, operating procedures, best practices, and Knowledge Shares
• Leading projects that restore, maintain and improve operations
• Developing and applying strategies to optimize on-going operations with automation and innovative technologies
• Leading and influencing different organizations to set directions for transformative work across multiple platforms.
• Understanding the workload of the various business units and how the Demand Team can best support those Business Units.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
• Knowledge of capital project planning and execution
• Experience managing projects within a heavy industrial environment
• Ability to oversee a portfolio of projects in multiple locations
• Experience managing other engineers or leading a team
• Experience managing projects greater than $10 Million
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% (depending on project needs and location of candidate)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Ability to work with a broad range of technical and operations people.
• Strong process engineering, analytical troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
• Strong capabilities in Microsoft Project
• Strong capabilities in Problem Solving/Sense of Urgency/Customer Focus/Team Work/Communicating
• Experience working in Lumber, Plywood, OSB, or Gypsum Facilities
• Experience managing projects greater than $25 Million
• Experience with both internal and external project readiness reviews (PDRI or IPA reviews).
• Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Ability to create effective metrics and goals to drive the success of the team
