Position Summary: The Assembly Senior Technician performs all the tasks of an Assembly Technician plus is responsible for review of documentation which includes batch records. The Assembly Senior Technician is also responsible for performing in process inspections and final assembly of all Chembio Rapid Diagnostic tests and related sub-components. This position encompasses duties associated with the manufacturing and packaging of components and final product within the Chembio product line.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meets all the safety, quality and productivity policies and procedures of the Assembly Department
  • Perform Line Clearance.
  • Conforms to the requirements of cGMP's and OSHA compliance.
  • Maintaining area cleanliness and organization.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments.
  • Assist in the correction of deficiencies found within the documentation reviewed as per GDP and SOP's requirements.
  • Stage materials from the Assembly Staged Raw material Storage area next to the correct assembly line.
  • Print out the work orders. Verify all part numbers of the components on the pick list matches the BOM in the batch record. Record the lot numbers and quantities picked for each component on the work order pick list.
  • Fill out the batch records completely and accurately.
  • Review Batch Records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensuring all written procedures are followed by subordinates.
  • Ensuring documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Reporting anomalies in the manufacturing process and documentation to the Assembly Supervisor.
  • Maintains an accurate record keeping of forward traceability for all inventory items.
  • Willingness to work OT when required.
  • Loading automated and semi-automated equipment with raw materials and sub-assemblies.
  • Maintaining high quality standards during the assembly operation and maintaining components segregated and identified.
  • Maintaining gowning requirements when in the manufacturing areas.
  • Follow company procedures.
  • Can lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.


Qualifications Required:

  • Knowledge related to ISO, QSR and GMP
  • Knowledge of Company SOP's and DHR.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail and proficient record keeping
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications a plus
