Job Description

Supports the Ventures group in all aspects of deal due diligence, the formation of start-up organizations, spin-outs, and new joint ventures and engages in a broad range of activities that support the investment and deal process including market research, internal review documents, modeling financials and cap tables, and term sheet generation. Assists with building a case for more localized investment opportunites by performing analytics analyses (both quantitative and qualitative) to support the evaluation of opportunities emanating from strategic partnerships, business relationships, and equity investments. Works with key internal/external stakeholders, including executives, clinicians, and venture funds and third parties to gather and analyze information required by management. The information includes market data, competitor performance, financial projections, and factors contributing to the relative risk for proposed ventures and/or investments.

Job Responsibility

1.Supports the completion of deal due diligence, including valuation, analytics, negotiations, and post-investment monitoring, including SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) business analyses, financial modeling, market research, competitive benchmarking, and other tasks required to advance start-up projects, spin-outs and joint venture opportunities.
2.Prepares preliminary investment memos and committee materials to be reviewed by supervisors.
3.Prepares reports in partnership with Senior Ventures associate, including deal-flow and portfolio summaries.
4.Coordinates meetings, takes meeting minutes and identifies potential business issues.
5. Analyzes, verifies, tracks strategic partnerships, internal and external relationships, and equity investments of localized investment opportunities of limited to moderate complexity.
6. Supports all required deal making activities related to joint ventures and/or strategic partnerships including necessary analysis, development of deal structure and terms and financial arrangements.
7. At the direction of management, works with stakeholders, including executives, clinicians, and other venture funds. Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
8.Operates under general guidance on varied work assignments that require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.
9. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations.
10.Regularly exercises independent judgment on matters of significance within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions/approaches.
11.Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Job Qualification

Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
1-3 years of finance/investment focused experience (VC/PE/Buyside/Banking) with healthcare sector experience preferred.
